The world's kitchens have frozen over, and the food has turned against the one cook still standing. Fight your way down through fifteen kitchens, master six weapons and a rack of seasonings, and face the chef who started it all.
The story
Every town has one kitchen that never closes. This one belongs to Otto: a small place, a busy line, and a cook who has never once let an order go out wrong.
Then one night the food in the pantry got up. And it was angry.
Under the frost on the pantry door, someone had left a note.
Otto has no idea who C is. Dinner service is at seven.
The villain
Years ago, on a busy night, a young apprentice set a sorbet in front of Otto. Otto was slammed. He never tasted it.
Coldbloom never forgot. He built his whole life around that one slight, perfected the cold, and froze the world's kitchens solid. His frost doesn't kill food; it preserves it in a sulk. Everything it touches thaws out angry, mutated and loyal to him.

Otto barely remembers him. The rivalry is entirely one-sided.
The way down
Every run takes Otto through one of three kitchens per stage, and every boss along the way is a cook or a dish who chose Coldbloom's side for reasons of their own. The deeper he goes, the colder and more organised it gets.
How you cook
Pick a kitchen weapon, coat it in seasoning and build something new every run.
Knife, cleaver, tenderizer, frying pan, rolling pin and whisk, each with its own attack and alternate move.
Salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic, cinnamon and turmeric each add an effect. Double up for a signature move, or mix two for a reaction.
Ingredients dropped by enemies become recipes at the stove. Every dish is a buff for the rest of the run.
Each with its own attacks and patterns, all the way down to Coldbloom himself.
Sometimes the way down drops Otto under the floorboards into a side-scrolling 2D level with its own enemies and bosses.
